Time Life Releases Songs 4 Ever

Time Life is releasing a comprehensive Christian music collection. Songs 4 Ever features a star-studded roster of artists and spans Christian music over the past three decades. The project, that showcases ten CDs with 150 songs, will be available online at www.timelife.com and through television infomercials airing nationally, beginning October 26, 2007.

Amazon MP3 (http://www.amazonmp3.com) offers Earth's biggest selection of a la carte, DRM-free MP3 music downloads. With over 2 million songs from more than 180,000 artists represented by over 20,000 major and independent labels, Amazon MP3 complements Amazon.com's existing selection of over 1 million CDs to offer customers more selection of physical and digital music than any other retailer. Every song and album on Amazon MP3 is available exclusively in the MP3 format without digital rights management (DRM) software. American Bible Society Gospel Music Association Agree to Long-Term Ministry Partnership

The American Bible Society (ABS) and the Gospel Music Association (GMA) have agreed to a long-term Ministry Partnership that will celebrate songwriters who incorporate the Bible’s life-changing message into their music. According to Dr. Paul G. Irwin, president and CEO of the American Bible Society and John W. Styll, president and CEO of GMA, the new partnership calls for the GMA and the Bible Society to create a new songwriting competition at GMA’s Annual Music in the Rockies event which is held in Estes Park, Colo. each summer. The ABS Scripture Song category will be added to the 34th Annual GMA Music in the Rockies, scheduled for August 3-9, 2008.

Word Announces National Talent Winner

After a nationwide talent search competition, Word Label Group, the Christian Festival Assoc. (CFA), and Artist Ovation have announced rock group, Nitengale, as the overall 2007 competition winner. The band’s community in Fairbanks, AK pulled together to send Nitengale to the competition, held at Soundcheck in Nashville, TN on Sept. 22. The 2007 Artist Ovation competition winner was given an artist development agreement.

Centricity Records announced the addition of Jennifer Allen, formerly INO Records national promotions manager, for the new role of national promotions director. INO Records promoted Valerie Stone to national promotions manager.

Organizers of the 13th Annual Inspirational Country Music Award Show (ICM's) announce some of the performers and presenters who are confirmed to appear on the annual award show that will be held at the historic Acuff Theater, Sunday, November 4th, 2007, at 6 PM CST. The show will be aired on four major networks with over 180 millions subscribers in the United States, Canada and to over 170 nations throughout the world. This year's show will include performers and presenters such as: the reigning Entertainer of the Year, Mike Hammock, who will perform "Safe IN The Arms of Love"; on the show as well as Lee Greenwood, Tammy Cochran, Emerson Drive; Mike Manuel; the Bellamy Brothers; Blue County; Brad Cotter; CrossCountry; Mary James.

Canadian trio Carried Away snagged four nominations last night for GMA Canada’s 29th Annual Covenant Awards to be held October 26th in Calgary, Alberta. Carried Away took a break from their current North American tour with JUMP5 to help announce the nominations in Brampton, Ontario on September 11th. The group was nominated for Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year ("I Want You"), Song of the Year ("Mystery"), Seasonal Song of the Year ("Soaring Trough the Sky") and Group of the Year, alongside downhere, High Valley, Relient K and Starfield.
